Viking Vagabond

Erik Northlander

Hi.

Is it strange that a writer doesn’t know what to say?

Well, first things first – Erik Northlander is my pen name.

I chose it many years ago, at a time and of an age when I was reflecting on what it meant to have an identity beyond I  or me  or hey you.

I remember thinking about what it meant to be part of a family, to have a home, to have relatives and ancestors.

What have I inherited from them? What do I owe in return? Am I simply half of my mother’s tree and half of my father’s tree? And what of my last name?

What if I made for myself a new name? Close your eyes, Erik. Collect your thoughts. Tell your story. Who is the man telling it? Carry on, Northlander.
